Modern Minimalist Kitchen Renovation in Brighton
Located in the heart of Brighton’s “Golden Mile,” this residence required a kitchen renovation that balanced ultra-modern aesthetics with the functional demands of a growing family. The client’s brief was clear: they wanted a “showroom finish” that could withstand daily use, replacing a dated laminate layout with high-end architectural joinery.
The Design Challenge
The original space suffered from poor workflow and limited storage. Working within a heritage overlay common in Bayside homes, we needed to maximize vertical storage without making the room feel enclosed. The goal was to create a seamless visual flow between the indoor dining area and the alfresco entertaining zone.
Technical Specifications & Materials
To achieve the “Silk Touch” standard, we utilized premium European hardware and surfaces specifically chosen for their durability and tactile quality.
- Cabinetry Surface: Fenix NTM (Nero Ingo). We selected Fenix for its thermal-healing properties and anti-fingerprint matte finish—essential for maintaining a pristine look in a high-traffic Brighton home.
- Internal Hardware: Blum LEGRABOX drawer systems in Terra Black with MOVENTO runners. These provide a feather-light glide and a high load-bearing capacity (up to 70kg) for heavy pot drawers.
- Feature Elements: Tasmanian Oak Timber Veneer shelving was introduced to add warmth and texture, breaking up the monochromatic palette.
- Benchtop: 12mm Porcelain with a mitred apron edge, offering superior heat and scratch resistance compared to standard engineered stone.
The Solution: Hidden Functionality
Our team custom-designed a “Hidden Butler’s Pantry” concealed behind pivot-slide pocket doors. This allows the main kitchen bench to remain clutter-free while the toaster, coffee machine, and prep areas are easily accessible yet instantly hideable. All panels were CNC-machined in our Melbourne workshop to ensure millimetre-perfect reveals.
Project Outcome
The result is a sophisticated, architectural kitchen that serves as the centerpiece of the home. By combining smart storage solutions with luxury materials, we delivered a space that increased the property’s value and improved the family’s daily lifestyle.
